Cross-Cut vs. Strip-Cut
Strip-cut shredders cut paper into long strips that can theoretically be reassembled. Cross-cut shredders cut paper into small rectangular pieces — much harder to reassemble. For financial documents, cross-cut is the minimum you should use. Micro-cut shredders (even smaller pieces) are available for higher security needs.

Maintenance
