How Satellite Messaging Works
The inReach Mini 2 connects to the Iridium satellite network — the only network with true global coverage, including both poles. Messages are sent and received via satellite, bypassing cell towers entirely.
The SOS Button
Pressing and holding the SOS button sends a distress signal to GEOS, a 24/7 international emergency response coordination center. GEOS contacts local search and rescue on your behalf.
Subscription Plans
Plans start at $15/month for 10 messages and go up to $65/month for unlimited messaging and tracking. The Safety plan ($25/month) includes unlimited SOS and tracking.
