The Omron Platinum is the gold standard for home blood pressure monitoring. It's accurate, easy to use, and the 100-reading memory means you can track trends over time without writing anything down. At $55–$75 it's one of the best health investments you can make.
Omron's monitors are validated by the American Heart Association and consistently score at the top of independent accuracy tests. The Platinum uses TruRead technology — it takes three readings one minute apart and shows you the average, which is more reliable than a single reading.
One button starts a reading. The display is large and backlit, so it's easy to read in any lighting. The cuff wraps around your upper arm and has a guide indicator so you know you've positioned it correctly — a small but important detail that many cheaper monitors skip.
Stores 100 readings per user for two users (200 total). If you use the free Omron Connect app, readings sync automatically via Bluetooth and you can share reports with your doctor. The app is optional — the monitor works perfectly without it.
At $55–$75, this is not the cheapest blood pressure monitor you can buy. But it's the one we'd recommend to a family member. Cheaper monitors often sacrifice accuracy, which defeats the purpose. The Platinum is worth the extra $20 over budget alternatives.
